Fundraising activities not only lower fees for students, but also supports the budget it takes to run a successful band program year-round. Props, instructors, specialists, music writers, uniforms, travel and maintenance – it’s a big operation and every bit helps!
Also, by participating in fundraisers and Scrip, it’s very possible to avoid paying ANY band fees. For most fundraisers, a significant portion of the profit go directly into your student account, negating what you would have to pay. Scrip is a fantastic program that GIVES you money back for buying gift cards for things you will already be buying like groceries, gas and restaurants.
Aside from Scrip Gift Cards, we try to offer ongoing useful fundraising programs for things you use like Laundry Detergent and Trash Bags. We also sell Texas Roadhouse Rolls around Thanksgiving or Easter, Crew Car Wash in late spring and Butter Braids around the Holidays as well as merchandise like hats, shirts and pullovers to cheer on the Marching Dragons in the Fall! Other fundraisers include an annual mattress sale, Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, a 5K Run/Walk, a new American Flag program, Yankee Candles, Poinsettias, Pacers games, Wicks or Grays pies and restaurant nights like McDonald’s and ‘Round The Corner.
How does it all work? For instance, if you sell one 5-gallon laundry detergent – $15 of that sale goes directly into your student account. Laundry Detergent orders are taken at the 1st of each month and Trash Bags are for sale anytime by contacting Meg Cade. Visit those pages here for order forms and more info.
Watch this website and social media for fundraising opportunities and inform your student to work at promoting and selling items to family, friends and neighbors! If you know of a fundraiser you would like to see or have questions about fundraising, please contact Meg or Denise.
