The Dragon is Headed to Semi-State!
Congratulations to the New Palestine Marching & Glitter Dragons as they have advanced their show, “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” to ISSMA Semi-State. The band will perform on Saturday, October 27th at Pike High School. Performance time is 1:13 PM. We hope you can come out and cheer them on. Good luck!
Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser
Order forms are due Friday, October 26th so get your’s in soon! Orders will be ready for pickup in plenty of time for Thanksgiving. Rolls are $5/Dozen and Texas Roadhouse’s famous Cinnamon Honey Butter is $2 per cup. Gift Cards are also available in any amount, a great holiday gift! A PDF Order for can be found here! Orders will be delivered on Wednesday, November 14th. You must pickup that day as we may not have enough freezer space for leftover items.
Busy Days Ahead!
While Marching Band is in full-swing, and fall concessions are starting to wind down, please note all of the upcoming events over the next three months. Dates are posted to the right (or at the bottom of the page on a mobile device). We have a family picnic, community performance, Honor Band, a pancake breakfast and holiday concert all on the schedule. Keep an eye out for signups as some of these events will require parent help.
It’s finally here, all the hard work is hitting the field with the first competition this week! The New Palestine Marching & Glitter Dragons perform “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” this Saturday at the Brownsburg High School Invitational at 6:45 PM. We would love as many people as possible to come out and support the band. Just show up and look for our cheering section. We’re usually mostly dressed in red… and pretty loud! We hope to see you there and good luck to the Dragon!

New Palestine Mid-States Marching Competition Have you heard? New Palestine High School is hosting an Inaugural Mid-States Marching Competition at Kelso Stadium on Saturday, September 22nd. We are setting the stage for our kids (and kids around the tri-state area) to have one of the best performance, competitive, and learning opportunities of their high school band career. Are you in? We hope to see lots of people from the community come out and enjoy the day. You can also volunteer to help if you would like to be involved with this great event! Take a look at the spaces to be filled on SignUpGenius and please direct any questions to Marlene Brauchle, NPBB Contest Coordinator. You will be given clear and concise directions and expectations so that you will be successful. It’s genuinely a memorable and fun day you won’t forget!
Band Picnic & Candlelight Vigil Rescheduled
Due to the flooding rains, we were forced to delay the band picnic that was scheduled for Saturday, September 8th. It will now take place on Saturday, October 20th. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers provided. We ask that each family pitch-in with a 2-liter and a little something to share. Winds and Brass please bring a side-dish. Guard & Percussion please bring a dessert. It can be homemade. It can be store-bought. Come as you are. There will be videos playing of past performances and many stories will be shared. Kids will be in-and-out. We will also play card and board games (bring your favorite, if you’d like!). Please reach out to Brenda Hoffman if you have any questions.
Band Camp Complete, On With The Show
A fantastic band camp wrapped up culminating with an ice cream social and debut performance of our 2018 show “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” on August 1st. A huge thank you to the staff for their dedication, the band for their hard work all summer in sun and heat (and sometimes rain) and the band parents for their tireless efforts in prepping meals, sizing uniforms and building props. First Home Football Game, Friday Night, August 17th
This is big! Shepler Field at Kelso Stadium is ready for the first home football game on the newly installed field. Your Marching Dragons will be performing “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” for the halftime show. A schedule has been shared with students and emailed via TeamSnap to parents. If you are not getting schedules and performance info, please contact the NPBB Connection Director, Marlene Brauchle at email@example.com to insure we have your correct contact information.

New Palestine is Hosting a Mid-States Band Competition
You may have heard, but New Palestine High School’s Kelso Field is being turfed this summer and we will have a beautiful new field for football games and a band competition this fall. Our Mid-States competition is to be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Look for more information soon and please visit our Mid-States Competition page for more info on this event.
A reminder that most Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer, band parents meet at the Band Barn at 6:30 PM and work on props for the upcoming season. No carpentry or building experience needed, someone will show you what is needed. Everything from painting to cutting tarp to building props. If you do have building experience we would love for you to become involved as many of our veteran parents are graduating over the upcoming couple of years. It’s a fun time that allows you to not only make a lot of new friends, but also be involved and make a real impact on the show. The more that are involved, the more we can accomplish. Congrats to New Palestine Indoor!
New Palestine Indoor finished 4th in their Winter Percussion competition at Decatur Central on Saturday, March 24th with their show “Akrasia, Forbidden Magic”. They have now qualified for State Finals at Terre Haute South High School (South Vigo) on Saturday afternoon, April 7th. Performance time, 3:08 PM. Good luck!
URGENT, HELP NEEDED! This Saturday, March 31st. Calling all Band Parents and Kiddos! This coming Saturday is Spring Cleaning for concession stands, and moving all of our indoor concession items (food and equipment) out to the Baseball/Softball stand and the Football stand. We are begging for some help to get this done… many hands make light work! This should only take maybe 2 or 3 hours. Even if you can only come out and sweep floors, that would help Carolyn Pinnick and her team out TREMENDOUSLY! We would love to get started as early in the morning as possible. Concessions SignUpGenius It is that time again! We will be starting Spring Concessions outside for Baseball, Softball and Track. This is the perfect time to finish up your Fairshare requirements. The start times on the sign up are the times that you need to be at the stand, which is an hour before activities start. End times are not listed, as they will vary….
